    • Giving through bequests: By including a bequest provision to M.E.C.CA. in your will, you can support M.E.C.CA while retaining control of your assets during your lifetime. Below is sample language to make a bequest to M.E.C.CA: “I hereby give [$_________ / ___% of the residue of my estate / the residue of my estate] to The Mentoring by Example Foundation, for the College & Career Academies, a Maryland nonprofit corporation, for its general purposes.” M.E.C.CA also suggests including the following official identification information: MBEF Foundation, 702 Russell Street, Suite 440, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 - Tax ID Number 85-2010354

    • Giving retirement assets: By naming M.E.C.CA as a beneficiary of your retirement assets (e.g., IRA, 401(k), or other qualified retirement accounts), you may save your estate from paying income and estate taxes on those assets

    • Giving life insurance policies: By naming M.E.C.CA as an owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you may be able to claim tax deductions for your gift

This information is not intended to be legal or tax advice. Donors are encouraged to consult with an attorney or other professional advisors in making a bequest to M.E.C.CA. Please contact us once you have arranged a gift. M.E.C.CA would be honored to recognize your generosity and the continued impact of mentoring by example.
